Book 19 in the series sees Miss Julia and Sam renting a beach house for a vacation to spend time with the members of their busy extended family. Along for the ride are the Bates family, the Pickens family, Etta Mae, Latisha, and LuAnn. Instead of a relaxing getaway, the group encounters a hurricane, treasure, and a trio of shady characters.

This series is a good fit for those that enjoy good old-fashioned adventure and mystery. Miss Julia stays true to her beliefs and family values while still having fun.

Since older characters are brought back after a few years, my memory of their background and history was refreshed through Miss Julia's musings.

Some of the plots seemed somewhat predictable.

After 19 books, these characters are like old friends.

Family, friendships, and faith keep these books relatable.
