Summary of this DVD... | ||
This is a very entertaining comedy with lots of references to Jane Austen. Hugh Grant plays a screenwriter who has won an Oscar, but cannot get a job in Hollywood because they have moved on with their ideas of what makes a good movie. He takes a job teaching at a college in Binghamton, NY. Immediately, he insults Jane Austen and that irritates a teacher who is very influential and powerful. So, he learns more about Jane Austen and ends up having to suck up to the teacher by flattering her and giving her gifts. All the acting is great and I enjoyed the film very much. Hugh Grant is funny and good, as always. Marisa Tomei provides the voice of reason and the rest of the cast is really good, too. We both liked this one - gave it 15 minutes to hook us and it did. | ||
