This movie won the Oscar. I loved Mahershala Ali in this movie, but when he goes, so goes the film.

It romanticizes drug dealers, this film does. That is where Hollywood is at now, I reckon. I was walking out with Chiron if I had any sense, when he asks Juan if he is the one who sold his mama dope and walks out. Everyone should turn it off at that point because it just deteriorates from there.

The first little guy, Chiron, was adorable. The older version was repulsive to me. The film lost it's magic after Mr. Ali's part was over. They didn't even explain his death.

And this is a best picture winner. Sad. Really sad.
