I got this movie from Netflix Disk rental. I was surprised to get it as quickly as I did.

The plot is about a woman whose daughter is murdered. The police have not solved the crime or communicated with her for months. She is understandably angry and rents three billboards to express her anger at the local sheriff and police force. The sheriff is brilliantly played by Woody Harrelson and his sociopathic deputy is portrayed awesomely by Sam Rockwell. Rockwell and Frances McDormand (as the mother) deservedly won Oscars.

The only problem I had with this fast-paced and as times strangely humorous film was the ending. And it was a realistic ending where you don't know much. That's just the way life is sometimes. I wanted to have them solve the crime.

Instead, they find a way to move forward. I highly recommend this film as one of the best I've seen of the new movies that are usually disappointing. This wasn't.
