Summary of this Book...
This is the third and final book of the Q trilogy (following on from "The Q Continuum: Q-Space (Star Trek The Next Generation, Book 47)" and "Q-Zone (Star Trek The Next Generation, Book 48)" ). Captain Picard and Q return to the Enterprise just in time for Lem Faal, the Betazoid scientist, to carry out his experiment. Professor Faal has been changed somehow by the galactic barrier, and has acquired telepathic powers and a certain degree of insanity. His experiment succeeds and creates a wormhole through the barrier. Although it is short-lived, it has the catastrophic side-effect of letting 0 back into our galaxy. After commandeering the Enterprise, 0 sets off in search of his old pals. Can the Enterprise, Q, and the Continuum stop 0? Or has half a billion years of evolution and madness, made him far too powerful?
I especially liked... | ||
The way how it is so easy to hear the actors speaking the lines in the book. The book is also filled with numerous references to events from Star Trek; sometimes it's just a little piece of information mentioned, but other times it's something much more grandiose. Greg Cox has done a great job on his dialogue and Star Trek lore research. This is a writer who clearly knows his source material.
The author of this Book...
Greg Cox is an American writer of sci-fi. He has written a vast array of works based on successful films and TV series, from Star Trek, to Terminator, to Batman, to the Librarians. He has written sixteen Star Trek novels to date.
I recommend this Book because...
It's Star Trek and very much as we know and love it.
