Summary of this Book...
A hacker wakes up on an operating table in a warehouse with no memory of the past three weeks. After escaping, she has to figure out why she was taken, what was done to her, how to shake the people chasing her, and how to make sure it doesn't happen to anyone else.
This type of Book is good for...
It's a YA thriller with light scifi elements. So, people who like that type of thing?
I especially liked... | ||
I liked some of the tech geek stuff, but honestly, the author captured hacker culture very poorly.
I didn't like... | ||
The end of the book was left entirely unresolved... to set up a sequel, of course. Lame. There were also lots of slow and boring parts that didn't matter and a whole story arc with the POV of someone's ex-girlfriend that didn't matter in the slightest for this novel but was presumably needed for the next. That's just bad writing. Also, the characterization amounted to "her parents died" and "his brother died" and "her brother died" and "his best friend died". A bit repetitive and not particularly effective.
Further Comments... | ||
This wasn't a terrible read, but it was pretty far removed from "good". I might check out the next book if the library has it handy... just to see if maybe they resolve anything in the first few chapters. But I don't much care about the characters or what happens to them, to be honest.
