Summary of this Book...
This is another book in the Maisie Dobbs detective series. This takes place in the early 1930s and involves the art world and the death of a famous artist, who is involved with a smuggling operation. On the personal side, Maisie ends a long standing relationship and someone close to her associate, Billy, dies tragically. There is a twist in the end and this one was an intriguing read. I just couldn't get going with it, but the ending was a good one and was a surprise. I enjoyed it a lot in the final analysis.
Further Comments... | ||
I recommend this series so far. It seems to be getting better and better as we work our way toward and through the 1930's. I look forward to more reading here after a break.
