Summary of this Book...
After her sister's son, Nate, has been kidnapped by a strange force, Ellen Bellhaven has to enlist the help of a trio of mismatched mercenaries in order to rescue him. Unfortunately though, they have to travel deep into the woods to a New Mexico religious settlement called 'Little Heaven', which is run by a not-so-innocent preacher named Amos Flesher, who is frightening in his own way. And there a lot of other unimaginable creatures who plan on stopping them from their rescue!
This type of Book is good for...
Anybody with very active imagination who loves to read a frightening tale of adventure.
I especially liked... | ||
The contrast of the three main characters who go to Nate's rescue. They're as different as night and day, yet they seem to work well together on their mission.
When I finished n/a this Book I wanted to...
Go out buy his next book, The Deep.
This Book made me feel...
This is the second book of Nick Cutter's that I've read (The Troop being the first one), and I've been impressed with both of them. Even Stephen King said of The Troop, "I couldn't put it down...not for the faint-hearted."
The n/a of this Book... | ||
Nick Cutter is the pseudonym of an acclaimed author of novels and short stories. He lives in Canada.
I recommend this Book because...
This author is new to me, but apparently he's been writing for some time under his real name, Craig Davidson. I think he deserves more attention than he's received so far!
Further Comments... | ||
I tend to float through the library and book stores looking for new authors to read, and I'm almost always surprised by what I can stumble upon. Finding this author and his novels was no different, and I'm happy I came across him!
