Summary of this DVD... | ||
This is a movie about World War II. I was interested to see it because of what I read about the plot. It starts in Casablanca where two allied spies meet and pose as husband and wife. They fall in love despite the man (Brad Pitt)'s misgivings. They have a child and settle in London. After a year or so it becomes obvious that someone in the local area is passing intelligence to the Germans. The spy network is running a test to see if it is the wife. The man (Pitt) does everything in his power to protect his family as the truth emerges for once and all. This movie was interesting mostly because Brad Pitt looks so miserable. I had read that Jolie thought he was messing around with the female lead, Marion Cotillard. He looks so old and worn out in this that eventuality of an affair seems doubtful to me. He really aged and not in a good way being tied down to Angelina and her hoarded family. The story is a good one, although the ending was a bit anticlimatic. The whole movie, I just wanted someone to put Brad Pitt out of his misery. I guess, after the movie was made, someone finally did that. Having seen a lot of his earlier movies, his appearance and demeanor here was quite a shock. Talk about someone sucking the life out of their partner. Well, that's what seems to have happened. The movie is a good, mediocre effort. Brad Pitt is the epitome of misery here. The movie was beautifully filmed and the scenery is mostly lovely. I'm glad I bought it after all because I will probably watch it again. | ||
