Summary of this Book...
This novel, a realistic story with mystical fantasy elements implanted inside, is set in Ireland. The main character Sandy Shortt owns a missing-persons agency. She is obsessed with missing things and people since she was ten years of age when a neighbor’s daughter suddenly disappeared. Her obsession makes her very successful in her work but she becomes a loser in all the other areas of her life.

One day, while in the woods, Sandy takes a side path and becomes lost herself. Jack Ruttle, whose brother Sandy had promised to find, now starts to search for Sandy. Sandy, however, is impossible to be found since she has disappeared into another place possibly out of this world.

Where Sandy Short has disappeared into is a place called HERE, a melting pot, of everyone missing from all places on earth. Will Sandy find the missing brother of Jack Ruttle or will she find all the other lost people here and get back to her life eventually? This is for the reader to find out.

I found this book to be an interesting one, especially because of HERE, the imaginary reflection of a mixture of Heaven and Earth. There is also a good amount of action and quirky characters who are mostly well-developed in the story. On the other hand, too many characters and the other story elements whose endings are left open impart an unsatisfactory feeling, too.

This type of Book is good for...
enjoyment and it has some positives about it.
I especially liked...
Quirkiness in the characters and the unsaid question that reflects into the reader's mind, which is: What makes us become lost?
I didn't like...
the fact that some story elements' and subplots' endings were left untied at the end, although the main plot came to a satisfactory conclusion.
The author of this Book...
is Cecelia Ahern. Some of her other books are: Love, Rosie; PS I Love You; Flawed; One Hundred Names; The Gift
I recommend this Book because...
I had fun reading it.
