Summary of this Book...
Sixteen-year-old Kaye is a modern nomad. Fierce and independent, she travels from city to city with her mother's rock band until an ominous attack forces Kaye back to her childhood home. There, amid the industrial, blue-collar New Jersey backdrop, Kaye soon finds herself an unwilling pawn in an ancient power struggle between two rival faerie kingdoms - a struggle that could very well mean her death.
This type of Book is good for...
This book is good for people who enjoy faerie lore. This book contains a lot of mythology, and mild romance.
I especially liked... | ||
I liked the amount of authentic faerie lore in this book, but the fact that it had its own twist.
I didn't like... | ||
The romance was very insta-love. There really was no development in the romance. They go from hating each other the loving each other. There was no in between.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Read the next one, just to see what happened.
The author of this Book...
Holly Black | ||
I recommend this Book because...
Although this book had lot's of shoddy character development, it did inspire me to create my own races and make sure to create three-dimensional characters.
Further Comments... | ||
This book is young adult, but it is intended for older teens. There is a LOT of use of the F-word, and tons of sexual references. The book is also just very dark, and raw in general so I would not recommend it for the younger end of the young adult spectrum.
