Summary of this Book...
Three couples get together for a spur of the moment, unplanned Backyard BBQ. Something happens that binds them together in a tragic way, that none of them will ever forget. They assume things about one another that prove to be inaccurate. I did not enjoy this book as much as The Husband's Secret or Big Little Lies. I think it was because I couldn't find a character here that I really liked at all. They are all sort of sleazy and despicable in their own way. In the end, I wasn't really rooting for anyone. They were all jerks.
I recommend this Book because...
this author is a great storyteller. She had me hooked and I read on all the way to the end. It's just that here she left me feeling sort of incomplete as far as wrapping up the story goes. It was like a shrug instead of a satisfying or even surprising ending. Not one of her best, to be sure.
