Summary of this DVD... | ||
In an alternative version of the near future, it is only legal to be part of a couple and people who find themselves single are arrested and sent to specific hotels where they must find a partner deemed compatible (ie. with a similar trait) in 45 days or be turned in to an animal of their choice. The hotel "guests" have the possibility of extending their time there by capturing "loners" - single people who have escaped and live in the woods. But when one man escapes the hotel after a failed relationship built on a lie, his life and his future are in jeopardy when he falls in love with another loner - an act which is forbidden.
This type of DVD is good for...
People who like dark comedies or "arty" films. People who like films alternative to the Hollywood blockbuster.
I especially liked... | ||
The concept which I think is an unusual and a creative idea and what drew me to watch the film.
I didn't like... | ||
The fact that the film was very weird - I suppose that this is meant to be its appeal but I think the comedy missed the mark a bit for me! The film seemed less concerned about the plot and the characterization and more focused on the way the scenes were shot and trying to be artistically clever.
When I finished viewing this DVD I wanted to...
Stay in a hotel. | ||
I recommend this DVD because...
It's great to watch if you like arty, off - the - wall films with a dark side.
I don't recommend this DVD because...
It's quite depressing, none of the characters seem very realistic and a lot of it is pretty weird - this is the best work I can think of to describe it - but make your own judgement!!
