This is a different type of detective show. I have watched 3 episodes and will probably try to watch more. Mr. hooves didn't like this because it is too slow moving.

Two once-partnered detectives are being interviewed seventeen years after they solved a serial killing case. We don't know why they are being interviewed in 2012 about a case that wrapped in 1995. They haven't been partners for years.

When they were partners they didn't exactly get along well, at least at first.

At first glance, Woody Harrelson seems like a good, solid family man and McConaghey seems like a drugged up pain in the butt. But Harrelson has a very dark side and McConaghey, is at heart a good person. They are a total surprise in some of their behaviors to the people they care about and to each other while working on the case.

There is insult humor of a very dark, brooding sort.

I have to say that this is the best thing I've ever seen Matthey McConaghey do. He's absolutely brilliant and totally convincing playing himself as a 17 years younger version. I have never seen an actor play that much younger than he actually is and be convincing.

the fact that this is so slow moving. Barely anything happened in the first three episodes, but the acting was so compelling, I want to see where it eventually goes. When I realized that the series ends with 8 episodes it made me more interested to see what's what.

Apparently the 2nd season is a different story with totally different actors.

I will add to this product review once I see the whole thing. It may be a while before that happens because Mr. hooves does not want to watch it. I will try and see it when he's doing other things I guess.
