Summary of this Book...
This is a story of Dolores Price, a girl's life from childhood to age 40. Dolores is full of flaws, but somehow you find yourself rooting for her despite them. Her experiences are crushing and lead to heartbreak, loss of control, and her struggle to achieve peace and happiness.
This type of Book is good for...
I first read the book at 20, and have read it again every few years since. This is a very emotional but easy read because it is difficult to put down.
I especially liked... | ||
Lamb writes from the perspective of Dolores. Reading a female's point of view from a man's mind is quite interesting. Many of the choices that Dolores makes made me want to reach through the book and smack her! I suppose that it that is a good thing though; it means that the author made me care about the character, her choices, and the consequences of her choices. Since the things that happen to Dolores are heavy on the heart, I appreciate that there were hints of humor.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Discuss it with others that have read it and offer it to those that have not.
This Book made me feel...
depressed, but hopeful
The author of this Book...
Wally Lamb | ||
I recommend this Book because...
Each time I open the book, I find myself connected all over again. I already know the story and what's going to happen, so the fact that I am affected again is a gift to me from the author.
