Summary of this DVD... | ||
This nice choir boy is accused of the savage murder of a clergyman. And he just seems so damn innocent! How could that be? Oh, I know... multiple personalities. The whole idea of this movie is a bit trite. Richard Gere is obnoxious as ever but well-cast as the sleazy publicity-chasing lawyer who protects criminals for glamour and riches. He's not a good enough actor to make his feelings for the boy feel genuine (and definitely not good enough to hold any attention when Edward Norton Jr is on the screen). Edward Norton Jr... this was one of his interesting roles. He only had a handful that were actually complex, so this is worth watching for him.

People who like... psychological law dramas? Is that even a thing?

The motive for the murder was amusing (and also trite and obvious... choir boy, clergyman?). The motive did bring 'home videos' into the movie. I like a bit of added grit and changes in film quality when done well.
Further Comments... | ||
This movie isn't special enough to recommend or not recommend. It's just... a movie. I looked up the ASIN for this DVD for a newbie friend and figured that I might as well review it myself, since I've seen it quite a few times over the years.
