Summary of this Book...
This is the heartbreaking tale of a highly dysfunctional family, who are ripped even further apart by the drowning of their middle, 'golden' child. It's a story or wanting to fit in and wanting to stand apart. Each member of the family have very different demons of their own, and I found myself sad, angry, and frustrated by all of them.
I especially liked... | ||
The emotion of Ng's writing. I felt as though I wash side the family home, watching the misery unfold.
This Book made me feel...
Sad, mostly. In particular for the youngest, 'ignored', child.
I recommend this Book because...
It's incredibly well written and will move most people, I'm sure. I liked the question of how Lydia came to be in the boat in the middle of night, how we didn't discover the answer until the very end.
