This type of Book is good for...
If you like and enjoy romance, you'd like this.
I especially liked... | ||
The beginning of the book held promise. As in any romance, you get the male and female character and you travel along with them as they finally find each other.
I didn't like... | ||
The ending. It turned into a story for two other characters, rather than focusing on the main ones.
The author of this Book...
Lisa Kleypas has been a favorite of mine for a long time. Up until now, I've never been disappointed with her writing. Even though this particular book had been the choice of one of the Best Sellers, I truly wasn't sold on it.
I recommend this Book because...
I'll always recommend Lisa's books because she's an awesome writer and I know that no one is perfect. This book may not have been her best work by far, in my opinion, but it's still worth a read.
Further Comments... | ||
Surprisingly, a whole lot of her other books should have been on the Best Sellers list, but not this one. While I've enjoyed the beginning, the characters turned into something which didn't resemble a cat and mouse chase. While in the beginning, she resented him, she ended up giving herself freely to him, yet not wanting an attachment. For a lady, it seemed a bit out of bounds. Devon's stubborn nature pursued her until he did what he never planned to do. He chose to marry her. Not unusual in a romance novel, but that last matter was rather overlooked, because Lisa decided to add bits and pieces of characters from her next book into this one in the last few pages, making the ending of the book inconclusive. The love Devon and Kathleen should have felt had been brushed away as new characters swept into their path. Somewhere in the middle of the story, there's a slight oversight (a plot hole) with a character - who, not surprisingly, ends up as the main character of the following book.
