Summary of this Book...
Captain Maya Stern Burkett was a U.S. Army helicopter pilot until a whistle-blower site brought down her career when it published information stating civilians where killed as collateral damage during her rescue mission of soldiers. She has suffered other tragedies in her life when her sister was tortured and murdered while she was overseas and now her husband has been killed while with her one dark night at Central Park.
This type of Book is good for...
This is a stand alone crime-thriller suspense by Harlan Coben. It isn't part of any other series he has written so anyone can pick it up without needing to read any other book attached to it.
I especially liked...
The story sets a scene and lets the reader do their sleuthing along with the main character. You don't know why Maya's husband was killed or why her sister was killed years ago. What is the mystery behind the nanny cam and how could it possibly have taped what it did? There are many instances of mystery that gives the reader ever reason to stay interested.
When I finished n/a this Book I wanted to...
The story that evolves keeps the reader engaged and following the main characters clues. Pages are turned as the interest and case builds around the wealthy family of her deceased husband and the things Maya finds out and pieces together.
The n/a of this Book...
Harlan Coben never fails with his books for me. They are always well thought out and easy to follow while delivering a huge enjoyment factor.
Further Comments...
The ending is nontraditional that had me applauding the author since I am fully supportive of any book that doesn't give you exactly what you expect. This book will keep you guessing until the very end and you will NOT guess what happens. Guaranteed.
