I liked how this book is two-fold: It could be read to the little ones without including the sidebar of information, or it could be read to siblings, for instance--ages 4 and 8--and still be interesting on both levels of fiction and nonfiction.

I'd love to see more books written like this.

Harriet Ziefert has written over 400 children's books in various genres and is now writing narrative nonfiction--a combination of fact and fiction.

Sophie Fatus is the illustrator of this book and also a sculptress, raised in France.

This is a clever way to satisfy listeners of different age groups.
