Summary of this DVD... | ||
What happens to humankind when a comet flies over and the machines come to life all over the world and try to take over? I'm not talking about a nice, civil, war of man vs. machine. I'm talking about a take no prisoner's run 'em down; chew 'em up fun... at least for the machines. Not so much for the people who take refuge in a truck stop diner. The above is the basic premise of the story of this movie. Bubba is the main character who is an ex-con who works as a short order chef in the diner. The arch villain in the movie is not human; it's an 18-wheeler that leads an army of other 18-wheelers. The owner of the diner just happens to have an arsenal of weapons that would put to shame some National Guard Armories. Eventually those trapped in the diner are able to overcome and destroy all the 18-wheelers.

This was a good film for pure entertainment. The gore mas minimal, but enough that the industry classified it as a horror movie.
Further Comments... | ||
This was the first time Stephen King wrote a short story and directed the film. He probably shouldn't have, because it was reported that he was high on cocaine throughout the production. The movie is more of a campy horror comedy but, is fun to watch. By the way, AC/DC did the film score, so if you don't like the movie, you will like the soundtrack assuming you like AC/DC.
