Any lover of Poe, lover of Steampunk, or anywhere the two meet.

The illustrations. There are quite a few that made an impact on me, even on the first flip through. The Masque of the Red Death, The Conqueror Worm, and of course The Raven each have an image that gave me pleasant pause. Another aspect I thoroughly enjoyed was a little Jack Skellington-esque character that both appeared in each story and adorned the borders of each image.

Carefully look at each picture for things I didn't notice before. Memorize them, copy them, have them forever.

So happy! I chose this book because I wanted to know a bit more about Steampunk yet was having trouble reconciling certain aspects. Taking something I already adore, Edgar Allen Poe, and integrating Steampunk into it simplified the process for me greatly. Rather than presenting something new, it morphed something familiar and that was awesome.
