Summary of this Book...
Mr. Majestic is a self-styled detective, who has grown up in the hurlyburly of Bangalore (India). The book follows his adventures as he traces a lost girl.
This type of Book is good for...
People who want to know about the underbelly of a city (not necessarily pretty) and like a good story.
I especially liked... | ||
1. The insightful descriptions of Bangalore. 2. The sly sense of humour. 3. They way the tale unfolds.
I didn't like... | ||
The gross bits. And some of them are very gross. Ew.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Tell the author I enjoyed it (which I did, when I met him) and ask him WHAT he was thinking when he wrote the gross bits (which I didn't have the courage to do).
This Book made me feel...
It gave me a few chuckles. The insightful bits were thought provoking.
The author of this Book...
Is Zac O'Yeah, (a pen name), whom I later interviewed for a readers' society meeting. He's from Sweden but has settled down in India because he loves the food.
I recommend this Book because...
It has great insights into the Indian psyche, is funny and is a good story.
I don't recommend this Book because...
Well, I did so hate the gross bits.
