Summary of this Book...
Jacob Portman's grandfather tells him fantastical tales of his adventures growing up on an island. But Jacob soon outgrows the stories of children who can do peculiar things like levitate and be invisible. When his grandfather, in a presumed state of dementia, dies in the woods with strange gashes on his chest, Jacob sees something in the woods that changes his life forever. His grandfather's last words send him on a quest to put to such impossible things to rest once and for all. Except, it doesn't do that at all.
