Summary of this Video Game...
Fantasy Life is one of the best RPG-style games I've ever played. There are 12 Lives that you can choose to take on (4 combat Lives, 4 gathering Lives, and 4 crafts Lives). You can level up each Life in turn and switch between them, essentially as you please. Unlike other games, you don't really lose any skills or anything when you switch Lives (for instance, if you are a Tailor and switch to Mercenary, you still have the ability to sew). The plot is brilliant. Something is wrong with Lunares, and you have to travel across all of Reveria to find out why.
This type of Video Game is good for...
Everyone, I think? It's easy enough to play for children, especially because you can actually skip almost every single fight scene. It will skip ahead like you actually did fight (although naturally you don't get any experience). It's still engaging enough for teenagers and adults to play.
I especially liked...
The fact that there is 12 different Lives, and that you can switch between them. The world map is pretty big, and there are a lot of hidden, out of the way places to explore as well. It's also nice that there's an option to skip combat, especially if you're focusing on a non-combat-related Life, or you aren't good at it.
I didn't like...
Some of the grinding ends up feeling ridiculous, like chopping down 500 trees or getting skills to level 15 in order to advance. It does get done, and it doesn't take impossibly long, but it is a pain.
When I finished playing this Video Game I wanted to...
Replay it and I did, actually, because you can have up to 3 save files.
This Video Game made me feel...
Really happy and satisfied with it, which does not happen often with video games because I usually get frustrated at the difficulty curve (because I'm not good at combat-oriented games, or games that require a lot of eye-hand coordination or strategy).
I recommend this Video Game because...
It has an amazing storyline (I don't want to spoil it at all, but it's seriously gorgeous, the characters have a lot of funny bits AND a lot of incredibly useful advice that is applicable to the real world), and it has a ton to do, you can easily sink hundreds of hours into the game and not be done, especially if you buy the DLC (and I highly recommend buying the DLC as it's less than $10 and adds a whole new sub-plot, new area to explore, and actually bumps your level cap to 200, your skills cap to 20, and means you can reach an even higher level in each Life).
