Summary of this Book...
Well, you've got to be pretty shut off from the world if you've never heard of Frankenstein, but I'd say you're in more of a hole if you've heard about him but have never heard his story. That was me. *Blush*

First of all, I thought Frankenstein was the monster when he is actually the scientist who created the monster. (The monster never actually gets a name. He's just reffered to as "that hideous creature" or "the daemon".) The story is mostly told from the POV of the Swiss scientist Victor Frankenstein who creates the famous monster, though sometimes the reader finds themselves viewing things from the monster's POV. For most of the book the reader is taken on a wild ride through Frankenstein's emotions and terrors at his hideous creation. The monster terrorizes him and his family until finally Frankenstein finally decides to get revenge and ends up chasing the monster into the artic where (SPOILER ALERT!) they both meet their ends.

Overall, I was satisfied with this book. I probably never would have read it had it not been on a school reading list, but I'm glad I did.
I didn't like...
Sometimes the author left things out because "they were too horrible to explain". I wish she would have tried to explain them because I think it would have made the story more horrific. It really wasn't as scary as I thought it would be. It was almost...disappointing.
When I finished n/a this Book I wanted to...
I wanted to sigh. *Laugh* It ended will which was good because I was thinking "Oh my goodness, this is going to have a horrible ending, it's not going to tie up all the loose ends, I'm going to be left hanging..." but that didn't happen, which was a relief. *Laugh* I was fully satisfied with how it ended.
This Book made me feel...
Pretty sick in some places and even a little depressed sometimes, but it was crazy - I wanted to keep reading it.
Further Comments...
I would rate this book as ASR because there are a few horrific elements but nothing that would make this book 13+, though a younger child would have trouble understanding the plot or conflict, etc.
