Summary of this Book...
In 1922, the Honorable Daisy Dalrymple, daughter of a deceased viscount, decides to take on a job as a writer for a magazine producing articles about stately homes, instead of living on the good graces of a distant cousin who has inherited her family estate. Her first assignment takes her to Wentwater Court where a guest that everyone considers abominable is found dead under the ice of the skating pond.

Scotland yard detective Alec Fletcher shows up to investigate and Daisy jumps in to help, offering to photograph everything for him. He reluctantly agrees and uses her to take notes for him during interviews to ease the tension of investigating a death among the noble class.

In the end, the photos and Daisy's people skills solve the case and Alec uses her suggestion for a solution to the case.

Daisy's article is well recieved and she marches off with prospects for a great writing career, money to put food on the table, and possibly some romatic interest with an eligible Scotland Yard Detective.
This type of Book is good for...
anyone who loves a good English "cozy" mystery.
I especially liked...
the setting details inside the house and estate. As a former architect they are fascinating to me.
I didn't like...
that it seemed a bit cliche and nothing really unexpected happens ever.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
read more of Daisy's exploits.
I recommend this Book because...
it is a lighthearted fun mystery that reminds me of reading Agatha Christie.
Further Comments...
There are a whole series of these books that I intend to read next. They are quick to read and perfect for a rainy cold afternoon with a cup of hot tea and a few cookies.
