Summary of this Book...
Making Money is the second Discworld novel featuring Moist Von Ludwig. Following on from his success in modernising the post office, Vetinari has offered Moist the job of sorting out the bank and Royal Mint. The chairman is a scruffy little dog named Mr Fusspot, the chief cashier has a mysterious past, and there's no gold in the vault. Oh and Moist's girlfriend is out digging up ancient golems....
This type of Book is good for...
All Discworld fans and readers of comic fantasy.
I especially liked... | ||
Adora Belle (Spike)'s scenes, and of course Vetinari.
I didn't like... | ||
I'm not as keen on Moist's sub-series as I am on many of the other Discworld characters. Pratchett doesn't seem to write him as fluidly and particularly recycles old jokes in Making Money.
The author of this Book...
Has written over thirty novels in the Discworld series as well as The Long Earth series and several other books. Sir Terry Pratchett has written his last few novels under a diagnosis of early-onset dementia and has spoken publicly about his condition.
I recommend this Book because...
Pratchett is witty, fast-paced and intelligent.
I don't recommend this Book because...
I wouldn't recommend reading this until you have read the sub-series prequel, Going Postal; and even then I, personally, would read the Moist Von Lipwig books until well versed with the other Discworld sub-series as it is Pratchett's most recent addition.
