Summary of this Book...
This is the Bill O'Reilly book about the famous World War II General. I was interested to read it because I never realized that the General was murdered. That said, I liked Killing Lincoln and Killing Kennedy much more. This wasn't a page-turner for me like those two were. I learned a lot about things going on in World War II that were interesting. It never occurred to me that Roosevelt died while Hitler was still alive. Hitler killed himself within a couple of weeks, but he still was happy to hear about Roosevelt's demise. The timing of things is weird. The author and his co-author, Martin Dugard, do meticulous research. There was a lot of battle detail in this that was boring to me. The ending wasn't very exciting because they tell you everything at the beginning about his accident. This book didn't do it for me as a reader, but these guys tell interesting stories about historical figures. This just wasn't a favorite for me, personally.
I especially liked... | ||
the detail about Hitler. I am reading another book about him, so that dovetailed nicely with this one.
The author of this Book...
The authors do a good job with their research. This just wasn't a riveting story maybe because Patton is not a very likeable figure to me. I could see where he would pose a danger to other powerful people at the time.
I recommend this Book because...
you learn something and if you are into battle detail, you will really like it more than I did.
