Summary of this Book...
The lastest Discworld & Moist Von Lipwig novel; Raising Steam brings steam trains to the Disc! Sir Terry's usual assortment of humour - sarcasm, dry wit and dark jibes - plus a series of international terrorist acts makes this a typically chilling and yet hilarious tale of derring-do. And derring-don't.
This type of Book is good for...
Any Discworld fan. Especially those that have read the other Moist sub-series (Going Postal and Making Money).
I especially liked... | ||
The discovery of Stoker Blake and the re-emergence of Blackboard Monitor Vimes.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Re-read The Watch sub-series (e.g. The Fifth Elephant, The Nightwatch) and The Truth.
This Book made me feel...
Smug - but then, all Discworld books do that
The author of this Book...
Has a rare form of early on-set dementia, and is still producing novels for his global best-selling series, Discworld, as well as producing several collections of short-stories, AND co-writing The Long Earth series.
Further Comments... | ||
Don't START with this book - read other Discworld novels first. Terry Pratchett has a habit (esp with the Moist sub-series) of overlapping characters from other sub-series. It makes a fantastic weaving if you know the characters from other books. And an almighty headache if you don't.
