Summary of this Book...
This was another disappointing Dickens story for me, though it was better than Great Expectations. I read it for school, and don't plan on reading it again. Let me explain why. Once again, it was just too wordy for me. Charles Dickens threw way too many long descriptions of his character's emotional states. The plot was okay near the end when something actually exciting happened, but besides that it was all pretty blah. There was a love story, a little mystery, and some gory stuff being set the French Revolution era. It was very confusing in some spots. It was probably because I wasn't paying attention enough because the book did not engage my emotions at all, but most of the time I was wondering what in the world was going on and what the whole purpose was. Anyway that's my tale about A Tale of Two cities.
This type of Book is good for...
Historical reference. It goes into the details of the French Revolution etc. Besides that, it really didn't do anything for me at all.
