Summary of this Book...
Great Expectations is a classic Charles Dickens story, but it left me never wanting to read it again. First of all the entire plot annoys me. all the main characters do is sit around and wait for someone to die so they can get money from an inheritance. JUST GET A JOB WHY DON'T YOU?!?!? However, just like almost every 1800's story, the protagonist thinks themselves too high to degrade themselves by working to get an honest wage. well, too bad for them. Secondly, it was not entertaining. I found myself struggling to get through chapters. I've read War & Peace, and even that wasn't as hard to get through as this book.
This type of Book is good for...
The Dickens fans and people who love wordy, wordy, wordy, stories and the depressing scenes of moldy, decrepit houses and complete destitution of common sense. Some people love it, but it's just not for me. I will have you know that I was actually looking forward to reading it because I adore the classics like Les Miserables, Pride & Predjudice, Shakespeare, & many others. This one just didn't compare.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Throw it away forever. I read it only to cross off a book on my to read list, and I will never read it again unless forced.
