Summary of this Book...
A young woman, named Mabel Dagmar, comes from a lower class background, but she goes to a college where her roommate, Ev, comes from a very privileged family. The unlikely duo form a friendship, of sorts, and Mabel is invited to Ev's family's summer compound in New England. While she is there, Mabel, uncovers quite a few of the family's secrets. There are murders and there is a question of incest that looms within the family that seems to have it all. This book was good at times and not so good at others.
I especially liked... | ||
the character of Galway. He is whatyyou could call Mabel's love interest.
I didn't like... | ||
the way the masturbation stuff is worked in. It is like let's throw it in here to spice it up. It really doesn't fit with what reader learns about Mabel and Galway.
The n/a of this Book... | ||
does a pretty good job. I like the short chapters.
Further Comments... | ||
I was disappointed with the ending. It didn't make sense to me that Mabel would do what she does and agree to be a part of things, after all she learned. She seems like a clinging vine and it is hard to admire such a character.
