Summary of this DVD... | ||
This movie was based on a true story. I watched it on Netflix Streaming. It deals with the murder of 3 eight-year old little boys in the early 90's in Arkansas. The media and police decided that it was the work of teenage devil worshipers (goths) who were oddballs in the area. Confessions were coerced and made no sense. There was no forensics tying the 3 accused teens with the crime. Still, the media howled and the teenagers were convicted. Only, it turns out that they didn't do it. In 2011 they were all released. Based on this movie, the culprit was much closer to home for one of the victims. I don't think that the culprit has ever been caught. Three precious eight year old boys were murdered and no one suffered for it but three dumb teenagers who were innocent. This made me want to learn more about the case.
This type of DVD is good for...
anyone watching the current yowling for justice that is going on. I am not sure if mob justice ever finds the truth behind a horrific event. The media loves to fan the flames and incite the mob.
I especially liked... | ||
Colin Firth with a Southern accent.
I didn't like... | ||
Reese Witherspoon's acting in this. Usually, I like her. Here, she plays the mother of one of the victims. She is conflicted beccause she becomes more and more aware that those accused did not kill her son and maybe her husband had something to do with it.
When I finished viewing this DVD I wanted to...
read a book about it. | ||
The cast of this DVD... | ||
is good. Colin Firth is always good. Here, he is totally different with a southern accent, but still believable. That is good acting in my books.
