Summary of this Book...
This is the autobiography of Oscar winning actress, Anjelica Huston. She grew up on the West Coast of Ireland mostly, so that was the thing that interested me and got me reading. Also, she is the grandaughter and daughter of Oscar winners Walter and John Huston, who are very interesting characters. This book deals with her childhood and early adulthood as she embarked on a modeling career that took her all over the world as a Ford Agency model in the 1960's and early 1970's. I learned a lot about her fascinating life, including the fact that she lost her mum at an early age to a traffic accident and has had to cope with that. Her birthday is the day before mine, which I did not know before. Her next book (due out in November or thereabouts) is about her adult life more and the relationship with Jack Nicholson. She will always be Morticia Addams to me.
I especially liked... | ||
her style of writing, which is sort of matter of fact. She is very honest about things and really hard on herself so it seems very forthright and more interesting than most celebrity autobiographies.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
read her next installment.
The author of this Book...
really has led quite an interesting life.
I recommend this Book because...
if you are at all interested in her or Ireland, this is an interesting book to read. I got a glimpse into Irish country life in the 1950's and 60's, which was quite fascinating.
Further Comments... | ||
I always felt John Huston was a pretty intense and scary character. It is strange to think of him as someone's Dad. But he comes across more human than I ever thought he was. I bet he would be very proud of his daughter.
