Summary of this DVD...
I was so looking forward to this movie, but a friend warned me it wasn't very good.

A young woman is obsessed with the movie/story of Pride and Prejudice so she books a trip to a sort of theme park type "Austen" experience. It is full of actors and other people who have paid for different levels of enjoyment. Keri Russel signs up for the bargain experience.

Predictably she finds romance in a couple of areas and a young man who is shallow (a la Wickham) and another who seems to be an actor, but is really sincere (played rather well by J.J. Fields).

My problem with the movie was mainly the silliness of Jane Seymour and the age of Keri Russell. She just wasn't believable to me as the heroine. I would rather have seen someone introverted who comes out of her shell.

And, I will say it. Keri Russell is younger than me, but she is too old and smart for this part and so is Jennifer Coolidge.

I LOVE P&P with Colin Firth and I SO wanted to love this movie, but it didn't do it for me. I'm going to try and watch it again to make sure now that I know the plot outcome, but I found it boring and not -believable on the first go-round.
I didn't like...
much about this movie. I thought J.J. Fields was pretty good at what he was given, but the rest of the acting was lacking for me.
This DVD made me feel...
disappointed, but I was prepared.
I don't recommend this DVD because...
it is more fun to watch the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth. Some scenes from that are included in this and I enjoyed that and the appearance of a couple of the minor players from that wonderful miniseries.
Further Comments...
This is not Keri Russell's finest hour, by a long shot. She is wonderful in Waitress and Felicity, not so much here.
