Summary of this DVD... | ||
This is Season 4 of Downton Abbey. Do not read on if you don't want to know what happens as only half of this season has aired to date on PBS. I ended up liking this season and the plotline of Lady Mary recovering from Matthew's death. I did not like the plot of Anna's rape and what they do with Mr. Greene. Most of the season is spent recovering from Matthew's demise and dealing with the aftermath of the rape and its effect upon the Bates' relationship. There are subplots too - Mrs. O'Brien has left, Tom Branson is trying to figure out if he belongs and if he can have a life and a normal relationship. Mosley struggles after losing his job and Violet has an illness that Isobel nurses her through. I don't like Lady Rose so I didn't like any of the stuff about her. I thought her love interest was a little bit effeminate. That whole thing wasn't believable that he would be interested in her. I like the back and forth between Mr. Carson and Mrs. Hughes. This is a season in which Mary comes back to life, but she has 3 suitors who adore her and hasn't chosen one to be the one. Edith is as stupid as ever in her choices and decisions. I do not know how she writes her name, let alone a column. They seem to have abandoned any mention of her career to devote all her scenes to her stupid pregnancy and the outcome of Michael Gregson's disappearance.
This type of DVD is good for...
anyone who enjoys Downton Abbey. Only the villain dies in this season.
I especially liked... | ||
that Mr. Greene is no more.
I didn't like... | ||
the whole Anna/Greene thing. I didn't find it believable.
When I finished viewing this DVD I wanted to...
watch it again and again until the next season comes out.
The cast of this DVD... | ||
is wonderful. I LOVED Paul Giamati as Harold Levinson. He is amazing and I hope he is in it more in Season 5.
Further Comments... | ||
If you are hooked on this show, this is a good season, except for the Anna thing. I didn't care for any of that stuff.
