Summary of this Book...
I love the story of Pride and Prejudice, although I had not read the book in many years. I think I read it in High School. Since I got a Kindle for Christmas I got the book free as it is in the Public Domain. So, I decided to re-read. It and the BBC Colin Firth version follow along quite well. I like the way the book fills in with feelings for the characters. I enjoy the way Ms. Austen writes and I know I will reread her books now that they are in my Kindle.
This type of Book is good for...
anyone who enjoys the movie or the BBC versions of the story. There is a lot more detail in the book and having seen the BBC version it is a lot easier to understand and appreciate the humor in this style of writing from the early 19th Century.
I especially liked... | ||
the character of Elizabeth Bennett. She and Mr. Darcy are two of my favorite characters in literature.
I didn't like... | ||
Wickham, but who does. For me, he is that smarmy guy who played him in the BBC version. Eeewww!
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
download to my Kindle all of Ms. Austen's books that are free on Amazon. And, so I did.
This Book made me feel...
like I was back in time, happily back in time.
The author of this Book...
is quite a humorist as well as a great storyteller.
I recommend this Book because...
if you read it a long time ago, like I did, you might be surprised at all the humor in it. I think I thought everything I read in high school was boring.
