As a well established writer of horror, Clive Barker holds no punches in this one, one of his earlier books. A quintet of short stories, including one where severed human hands wreak havoc on society and another where knots in a simple piece of string release beasts from beyond, this is ingenious in its simplicity of subject matter. Not only are the things he writes about unique, but so is his style of writing.

If you want to read something at night to keep you up, this is a must read.

The title story, 'The Inhuman Condition'. How a writer can come up with something as simple as knots for a horrific story is beyond this reviewer’s grasp.

Rush out to the nearest book story and buy the next one.

is one of my favorite authors of horror. Even Stephen King praised him and referred to him as ‘the future of horror’.

If you want to read somebody with a different style of writing, you need to read Clive Barker. He’s certainly up there with the best horror writers of our time.
