The books is simply a love story. Miles, the sheriff, has lost his wife in a hit and run case and was never able to capture the criminal. He spends two years of his life in that search, and then he meets Sarah. Sarah teaches his son. They fall in love and he has overcome his obsession with the death of his first wife.

light reading. Don't expect too much. It is a simple, sweet romance.

too many cliches used in the book. The language felt too simple.

brood over the story a bit more.

sad, mostly. I don't its happy ending is happy.

is Nicholas Spark. The book expresses the simplicity of his prose.

it is perfect for a light read between heavy tomes of life.

it won't cater to your literary desires. It is not the kind of book with blazing language. Instead, it barely glows like hot coals.

I won't say I disliked the book. It has emotions; it kept me wanting to read further. But it is not a book I would pick again.
