Summary of this Book...
The book shows the coming together of Qhuinn and Blay. Everyone who has followed last ten books of Black Dagger Brotherhood Series is aware about the burning and yearning chemistry between them. This story is more about acceptance of having different sexual orientation.
This type of Book is good for...
The people who are already following the series. I won't suggest any new reader to start with this story. In case you are not yet introduced to Black Dagger Brotherhood, go back and start from the beginning. The book will disappoint you a bit less then.
I especially liked...
The side-stories. Though, the change in POV after every chapter was frustrating, I must say that these side-stories were far more interesting than the main story.
I didn't like...
This is quite a long list.

1) I did not like missing poignancy of Qhuinn and Blay's relationship. I mean the good sex scenes are all fine and dandy, but the book missed showing that connection between them. They were best friends, yet their friendship with each other is underplayed.

2) Second thing I missed in the story was John Matthew's perspective. I mean the three have been together for years and yet, there is not big Epiphany or relief on his part. He is just shown in passing.

3) The thing I hated the most was that the author got Layla pregnant.
When I finished n/a this Book I wanted to...
Tell J. R. Ward that not everybody needs kids. A gay acceptance is possible even without making a friend pregnant because of some old sacred dream.
This Book made me feel...
sad and excited at the same time. AS I said above, though the main story is missing that sizzle, side-stories sustains and feeds them. I was sad that years of Blay and Qhuinn's romance concluded in such a silent manner, while I was cheering for Assail.
The n/a of this Book...
needs to remember that the voice of the character does not change with every chapter. If they are Old-World warriors, they remain so. If they are Chosen, they should reflect so.
I recommend this Book because...
it is a continuation to the previous series and I'm sure many have been waiting for the relationship between Qhuinn and Blay to develop finally.
I don't recommend this Book because...
it is just a way to introduce new characters for the series.
Further Comments...
I will recommend this book only to BDB addicts and nobody else. The novel does not stands independently, neither does it ends independently. Unless you have read the previous stories, do not try to read this.
