Summary of this Book...
This book follows Gordon Ramsay's career from his first restaurant job, through to setting up business with his father-in-law, opening his restaurants, etc. It is an interesting look at the behind-the-scenes of a restaurant empire, and the hard work, dedication and perseverance that went into the success. Note: The book was written and published before Gordon and his father-in-law went their separate ways.
This type of Book is good for...
any fan of Gordon Ramsay. It reads as if you're sitting down listening to him talk. I laughed aloud the first time I read 'Fuck me!' as I could 'hear' him saying it in that distinctive way he has. Lots of his sayings and expressions make their way into the book.
I especially liked... | ||
I liked the insights into the behind-the-scenes that you don't see on the television shows. On television you only see him cleaning up other people's messes - this book reveals some of his own mistakes and how he learned from them.
I recommend this Book because...
I'm a fan of Gordon Ramsay and I enjoyed every page of this book. It was interesting, sometimes amusing and I gained even more respect for the man behind the celebrity chef.
I don't recommend this Book because...
if you're not a fan, don't bother. The book has loads of Gordon Ramsay personality in it, so if he annoys you on television, you're not going to enjoy the book.
