Summary of this Book...
This is the story of a young man who appears to be an alcoholic loser who lives with his parents. A dying woman, who he barely remembers having sex with, leaves him her child and tells him he is the father. He is forced by circumstances (and by loving the child) to step up and take responsibility and quit drinking. The child brings a whole community of oddballs together to raise her. Her name is Frankie. There is a character called Muttie with a dog called Hooves so how could I not love this book by Maeve Binchy that is set in Dublin?
This type of Book is good for...
anyone who enjoys Maeve Binchy's storytelling.
I especially liked... | ||
Emily, the helpful American Cousin who straightens out Noel and everyone else. I loved Hooves and his devotion to his Muttie/Master.
The author of this Book...
knows how to create loveable characters.
I recommend this Book because...
it warmed my heart. It is not a great book, but it is an entertaining one.
