Summary of this DVD... | ||
Mr. Hooves and I just got the streaming Netflix and this was something of interest to both of us. So, we watched it. We have seen her in person at Wolf Trap in Virginia a couple of times and always enjoyed her.
This type of DVD is good for...
anyone interested in the 1960's and folk music.
I especially liked... | ||
learning more about her and Bob Dylan. One of her best songs was written about him. I did not know that.
This DVD made me feel...
a little sad listening to The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down and Diamonds and rust. I learned how close a friend she was with Martin Luther King, Jr. I had no idea about that relationship.
I recommend this DVD because...
I think you learn about the 1960's and it is a time of great anxiety and change. I enjoyed listening to her music again, especially my favorite, which is "Diamonds and Rust."
Further Comments... | ||
I didn't realize she went to North Vietnam a la Jane Fonda. They didn't really make it clear if she did this before or after Fonda. That sort of turned me off a bit, but she believed what she believed at the time, I guess.
