Jacob is an elderly man in a nursing home who, whilst reminiscing over his life in daydreams, takes the reader on a journey with him from his life as a young man in vetinary school to how he came to run away with the circus in the 1930's and the incredible adventures that ensued.

People who like a novel which is fairly easy to read but also entertaining and has a good plot. Also for people who like stories about animals or circus life.

The characterization of the main character Jacob, the elephant Rosie and the interesting insight in to the history of the circus and life in the American depression of the 1930's - yet told in an imaginative and exciting fashion.

The fact that it ended!

It really is the kind of book you don't want to put down because you want to find out what happens next in the story.
