Summary of this DVD... | ||
This movie is part of my quest to see Jean Harlow vintage movies - at least as many as possible. This one is about Broadway star, Mona Leslie who falls for an alcoholic rich playboy played by Franchot Tone. All the while, it is her best friend, Sports Promoter William Powell who loves her. In a weird move, Tone's character shoots himself, which is what Jean Harlow's second husband did. Very strange plot twist.
This type of DVD is good for...
anyone who wants to see Jean Harlow's movies. This one shows the chemistry between Harlow and the last love of her life, William Powell.
I especially liked... | ||
William Powell. | ||
I didn't like... | ||
Franchot Tone. He is irritating.
When I finished viewing this DVD I wanted to...
watch more of Ms. Harlow's movies.
The cast of this DVD... | ||
is pretty good although Ms. Harlow does none of her own singing or dancing and that is pretty obvious.
Further Comments... | ||
I like Ms. Harlow's sassy comedies better than her melodramas. This is definitely in the melodrama category. William Powell is always entertaining.
