Summary of this DVD... | ||
Clark Gable plays a sea captain carrying a secret stash of gold in a sea voyage on the China Seas. Jean Harlow is China Doll, Gable's mistress and Rosalind Russell is a widow and Gable's one true love. This is an action packed (complete with Chinese pirates) screwball comedy with lots of double entendres. It is a vintage film from 1935 when Harlow was at her most luminously beautiful.
This type of DVD is good for...
anyone who wants to see Gable (pre Gone With The Wind) and Harlow in their most attractive primes.
I especially liked... | ||
Ms. Harlow drinking to Admirable "Puff Puff Puff" with Wallace Beery. It is one of my favorite scenes in the films of the 30's.
I didn't like... | ||
Rosalind Russell - she was creepy playing a snooty English society dame.
I recommend this DVD because...
It was a lot of fun and I love anything with Harlow and Gable in it.
