This is the story of the trial of Nazi judges that took place in Nuremberg Germany in 1948. It is judges sitting in judgment on judges who did the Nazi's bidding. There is a lot of upsetting documentary footage that is used so be aware of that.

I am trying to see a lot of Spencer Tracy's movies. This is one of his later ones. He is Chief Judge of the tribunal. There are a lot of stars in this movie, including Judy Garland, Marlena Dietrich and Maximillian Schell. Also, there is Burt Lancaster and Montgomery Clift.

anyone who wants to watch something that is powerful and searing about Nazi Germany.

Burt Lancaster's performance. I never thought he was much of an actor.

it is a good and powerful film that doesn't take the easy way out in finding and laying blame. It explores the issue pretty thoroughly.
