Summary of this Book...
A couple of years after 9/11 a jury is selected to pick a suitable memorial from submissions that are blind (they do not know the architects names). They end up picking a Muslim's design and all heck breaks loose.
This type of Book is good for...
anyone who is interested in fiction about 9/11.
I especially liked... | ||
none of the characters except the children.
I didn't like... | ||
Claire. | ||
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
read something completely different.
This Book made me feel...
like the book could have been so much better if the characters (particularly Claire) had been developed more. Claire is trying to validate herself through the death of her husband on 9/11. She comes across as the weak villain.
The author of this Book...
is obsessed with showing us the Muslim community and how warm they are. But she doesn't quite succeed. Mo is as selfish and conflicted as Claire is.
Further Comments... | ||
I am not sure whether to recommend or not. The reading was uneven at best. I with the characters had been developed more because I think the plot is promising and a good idea.
