Summary of this Book...
This is one of Dorothea Benton Frank's best novels and that is saying something. The story of a widow whose husband did a bunch of mean stuff is juxtaposed with the couple who helped George Gershwin write Porgy and Bess. The setting is the Porgy House on Folly Beach in South Carolina. No one captures the essense of the low country like Dorothea Benton Frank.
This type of Book is good for...
anyone who enjoys a good, witty story.
I especially liked... | ||
the characters of Daisy and Ella and their relationship and how they help others.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
read more Dorothea Benton Frank.
The author of this Book...
is great with observational humor. I hate waiting for tradespeople too. Her observations are sarcastic and a riot.
I recommend this Book because...
it was a great read! Love the low country - I want to move there some day!
